We are proud of this new integration which confers in the new SAM 460ex "FLEX" possibilities adapted to its flexibility. According to your future needs, you can benefit of places capacities to add  a hard disk, a SD card, more memory or another compatible expansion card.
As for the SAMep and SAM-Flex, the 460ex motherboard contents itself with a passive cooling. This one still contributes to make it relatively silent. For the same reasons, the hard disk SATA was chosen in a series "low noise" but with superior performances to 36Gs, 7200rpm, 8.9ms and 16MB of cache. We are sure that this configuration is going to satisfy those who waited for a more powerful alternative to THE RED ONE F @733MHz.

The core on the SAM 460ex is a PowerPC 460Ex "System On Chip" (SoC) from AMCC (Applied Micro) @ 1.15 Ghz with passive cooling (fanless ) and very energy-saving!
The SAM 460ex has 3 expansion's slots: PCI, PCIe 1x, and PCIe 4x (16x physical).  It also has onboard an audio/video chip and a SATA2 port.
